BROOKINGS started an interesting blog series about EDUCATION PLUS DEVELOPMENT

In its first blog attention is given to the importance of specifying the purpose for education. It is based on the conclusion, that in post-Covid times lessons learnt as well as a new perspective on the development of individuals and societies needs to be reflected in any transformation processes of education systems.
In this article (https://www.brookings.edu/blog/education-plus-development/2023/02/16/in-the-quest-to-transform-education-putting-purpose-at-the-center-is-key/?utm_campaign=Brookings%20Brief&utm_medium=email&utm_content=246780953&utm_source=hs_email) five categories are presented to frame the larger educational ecosystem by multi-stakeholder dialogues. These are:
Education for economic development
Education for building national identities and civic engagement
Education as liberation and critical conscientization
Education for well-being and flourishing
Education as culturally and spiritually sustaining.
